A little bit crazy

At AWANA on Wednesday we had crazy hair, shades and tie night.   So we went all out and had some fun at our house.  So here is some photos of the madness.

Asia is realizing it is only fun to do this stuff when other people do this and so she didn't want to go to crazy but she loved her cactus glasses.

Mia I did what she would allow me to do here is our Mia madness.

Our hairy Hudson

You maybe saying what is so crazy about his hair well just wait for it......

I don't know if you can tell but I shaved a football out of the back of his head, and so the front looks normal.  Then when you get a view from the top and there it is.

Now Judah has to be my favorite on the crazy hair stuff.

Now for the shot of his hair.  You thought the saying about people having eyes in the back of their head was just a saying not anymore.

I borrowed a wig from Kari to wear but it didn't fit so this is what I came up with.

I don't know if you can see it but it is suppose to say AWANA in my hair.

Hope your day isn't as crazy as ours was.

Did I forget to blog? Oh no just didn't get it done.

Wow it sure has been a long time since I got on here and did this.   Some day I am going to be consistent in the things that I want to do.  Where do I start?  We had a great summer, and several visits to grandma and grandpas house.  I think if I would let Mia she would play in the sand all day.

After one of our trips in August we got back just in time to celebrate Judah's birthday, and we took him to his first ever Saltdogs(baseball) game.  He had a great time even though it did get a little long.  We knew a few people that were there so he got to play with his buddy Jonathan, so that made it even better.

A month later we got to celebrate Hudson's birthday.  He had high hopes for his birthday and I don't think it failed him at all.  We all had a little cake and ice cream, and he got more presents then he needed.

A week later we headed up to Souix City where Shane ran his marathon.  He did a good job and Hudson, Asia and I got to enjoy a great time of swimming while we were there.  That was the highlight for them.  Asia kept saying "I love Iowa it has the best swimming pools".  The swimming pool wasn't that great but it had a couple of slides that they got to enjoy and that made it really fun for them.

The week after that was our AWANA grand prix races.  So we fixed up our cars during that week.  Hudson was still in his birthday mode so he went with the lightning mcqueen car.  He got 3rd place in speed and 3rd place in design in his division.

2008and09 296

Judah decided he wanted a car like grandpa and uncle kris, but as you can tell it really isn't a car.  These lawn mower tractors just don't move quick so he lacked in the speed, but made up for that with his idea and came away with a first place trophy for design.

Asia went for the car of her dreams, a pink convertible mustang.  This year was a good time of teaching her that we don't always win.  She handled it like a pro.   I must say I am more proud of her attitude than I am of the trophy's we received (can I really say that, just don't tell my boys).  That is a little of our crazy summer/ fall hopefully tomorrow I will get our halloween pictures up.

Waddle waddle

On Friday Shane, Asia, Hudson and I drove to Storm Lake Iowa so I could run my 1/2 marathon.  The race went okay.  I ran about what I expected to run but not as well as I had trained to run.  Does that make sense to anyone.  I was fully trained to run the 1/2 marathon in May here in Lincoln but there were to many people signed up so I didn't get to run in that race.  So I decided that I would run this one a month away.  So I slowed my training down and I guess I never recovered very well.  Shane has been so busy that my training this last month has kind of went out the window.  Matter of fact these last two weeks I have done absolutely no running, I have done lots of things like ride bikes with the kids but no running.  Not my best choices but I had no babysitter to help out.  That being said I was very satisfied with the time I ran and how well I did with my lack of training.  I must say mile 10 was the real killer.  I loved the race it was in the middle of no where (sorry MeLissa) so we ran on the highway from one town to another, if you love to run with a crowd around this is not the race for you, but I was very satisfied with seeing five or six spectators every mile or two.  I think I would like to run this one again next year,  anyone want to join me?

My top 5 moments of a 1/2 marathon

5.  Quiet time while training (nothing like getting a quiet moment to your self every day of training)

4.  Awesome time spent singing praise music

3. Water stops, ahh refreshing, not to mention some people were quite creative with there water stations (super heros, frogs, and buffalos just to name a few)

2. Actually finishing the race

1. Shane, Hudson, and Asia running 3 of the last 5 blocks with me.
